A case study on engineering education in kerala | KTU | Media One

The engineering education in Kerala is undergoing dramatic changes. Around fifteen years back only cream students went for engineering studies. At present students are joining the course not for passion to engineering stream but as a matter of prestige and pressure from external environment. The scenario is not different among the faculty community also in terms of quality erosion. The present study aimed to find out the impact of age group, educational qualification, experience, extend of participation of faculty members and impact of career development programs on the quality of teaching. The most popular career development tool utilized by faculty members in the field of engineering is attending Seminars. It may be due to the fact that it is an easy task. The research revels that the majority of faculty members in the Engineering discipline belong to thirty five years and their basic qualification is B.Tech. Apart from that, attending workshops, faculty development program, participating in national and international conference helps a faculty to increase the quality of teaching. It is viewed that there is reluctance from the part faculty members in participating in career development programmes.

Contact Course In KTU | Clarification on Contact Courses

What Is Contact Course In KTU ?

The Contact Course is a 20-hour class by a faculty concerned to a particular subject. The Class is organized by the College on the written request of a student.
The Contact course registration is considered as a fresh course registration.
The Faculty or teacher concerned will conduct the internal evaluation procedures and will allow the marks as per the regulations.

A student can register for the contact course if he or she has to earn credit for only one course (FE IN ONE COURSE / COURSE INCOMPLETE / NOT F ) for the degree after completing  8 semesters studies.

The Final Examination for the contact course will be conducted by the college under the monitoring of an external academic auditor.The Question Paper for the same will be distributed by the controller of exams.

The Maximum Grade that a student can gain after the contact course is C. No grade above that will be provided.

This student grievance redressal portal aims to function as an intermediary between the students, Universities, Institutions and the Ministry of Higher Education. The portal is made available to students studying in various Universities and Institutions across Kerala. Each grievance will be rightly handled by nodal officers at the University and Institution levels, and also will be closely monitored by the Office of the Higher Education Minister

HOW TO REGISTER

• Create an Account
Both Students and Prospecitve Studens can create account in the portal http://ihrd.kerala.gov.in/studentsportal. Click on relevant button and fill the details to create a new account
• Verify OTP to activate account
An OTP will be sent to your mobile number. Login using the username and password and click on 'OTP Verification' tab and enter the OTP to activate your account
• Submit your Grievance
Once the OTP has been verified, you can submit your grievances

Nodal officer in Universities

• It is hereby notified that the result of B.Tech S8 Exam May 2019 is published. The detailed results are available in the KTU website: www.ktu.edu.in.


• Discrepancies, if any related with CGPA should be intimated to ​the ​University through email on or before 18th July, 2019 4pm (​mail ​ID: [email protected]). Belated requests will not be entertained.


• Students are informed that Registration for Answer script copy and Revaluation will be opened in the KTU portal from 23.07.2019, Tuesday noon to 25.07.2019, Thursday. The fee for answer script copy is Rs.500/- per answer script and for revaluation, Rs.600/- per answer script. Students should submit their requests through student login and pay the fee at College office on or before 25.07.2019, Thursday.




• Semester grade cards for 8th semester can be downloaded ONLY by students who fulfil all mandatory eligibility criteria stipulated by KTU for the award of B.Tech degree. CGPA will be displayed in the curriculum page in student login, only for eligible students


• The CGPA will be displayed in the student login as and when the students satisf​y​ the required eligibility criteria set by KTU


• The B.Tech and B.Tech Hons results will be published soon. Provisional degree certificates for B.Tech and B.Tech Hons will be made available immediately after the declaration of B.Tech results


• Request for Migration certificate (routed through respective institution logins) will be entertained only after the issuance of Provisional degree certificates

Why are you applying for financial aid?

I have currently joined for computer science engineering in one of the most prestigious colleges in India. 

Recently, we had been given an assignment to complete a course on the basics of __(Paste Name of Course you selected here)____ within three to five months. We had been given this since our tutor had thought it would be an additional benefit when it comes to college placements and it would be easier to understand what is taught in class for students who have earlier had no information on the subject.

As I am currently residing in the college accommodation and we have no internships until we finish two semesters, I cannot possible pay up for this course. Also, the allowance I've been granted is not sufficient enough to meet the course fee. 

It would be a great honor if I am granted the financial aid to acquire the certificate from your esteemed organization.

The importance of education is one thing that I am completely aware of ever since I was a young child. I have seen a lot of people that had to struggle in their lives because of the lack of education. The certificate that I will earn when I complete this course will be a key element in my collection of certificates which I can proudly present whilst in an interview. Also, it will be a stepping stone for me in class as I have no previous knowledge of computer programming or __(Paste Name of Course you selected here)__ as I was a Bio and Math major. 

My bachelor's degree in computer science technology along with various other courses that I would enroll for in the future at Coursera would really help me out in the four years that I will spend in college.

If you answered No. please understand why.

I would not like a low interest loan as I would find it difficult to repay it later.  

In case I haven't got a job, it would be really hard for me to pay back the loan on time.

NOTIFICATION

University is in the process of preparing Certificates ( Provisional, Consolidated Grade Card and Degree Certificate) of the first batch of B.Tech students and is expected to deliver immediately after announcement of S8 result of 2015 admissions. For the issual of certificates, all students who have secured enough credits up to sevnth semester (S7) are requested to verify their grade cards through their login and intimate university if any dependencies are noted against the grade card previously published. Those who have got no change in their Grade in the semester Grade card even after they passed for the revaluation/supplementary examinations are also requested to regenerate their grade card and report back to university. NAD ID CREATION FOR UG FINAL YEAR STUDENTS

APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University is now part of "National Academic Depository"(NAD) by govt of India which enables to issue a digital secure certificate to all its students. In order to start using the same, you are requested to register on NAD, so that you can use your digital certificates. Students need to register on NAD and generate their unique NAD id and inform colleges. Please do the NAD ID creation with AADHAR or without AADHAR option on or before 06/07/2019. Please do not create any NAD ID after 06/07/2019 . University will provide another date for NAD ID registration and will announce the same in the website. All UG final year students are requested to create a NAD id as per the instruction attached in the pdf on or before 06/07/2019

Its observed that certain students couldn't register for supplementary examinations of 1st and 2nd semester courses till now.

Those who couldn't register for supplementary exams shall approach College office and pay the required fee.

 College can do registration for students. Registration will be opened in College logins upto 13th June, Thursday, 12 noon.

It should be noted that supplementary registration to common courses of odd (S1) and even (S2) semesters (such as PH100, CY100, BE110 etc.) should be registered under B.Tech S2 (R,S) Exam May 2019 - irrespective of which semester the student had undergone the regular course.

Registration to S1 specific courses (such as MA101 - Calculus, BE103 - Introduction to Sustainable engineering etc.) will be opened later.
